With 2019 almost over, also the 500th year anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci’s death is coming to an end.
Over the last months, our Codex Atlanticus has been honored with multiple awards and publications and we are particularly excited to have recently won Gold in the category Arts, Entertainment & Culture of the Kantar Information Is Beautiful Awards. Being awarded with what is widely considered as the “Oscar” of data visualization and information design has been surely one of our proudest moments.
While we were celebrating our Gold award, part of our team has been invited to Boston to showcase the project as a best practice example of digital-humanities with a totem at the renowned Northeastern University. The official inauguration of the totem has been accompanied by speeches from Paolo Ciuccarelli (professor of Design NU and partner of The Visual Agency), Matteo Bonera (The Visual Agency Creative Director), Mons. Francesco Braschi (Doctor of Biblioteca Ambrosiana), Amy Halliday (Director NU Center of Arts) and Cammy Brothers (Professor of Art, Design and Architecture NU).
These two events so far apart represent the stages of a journey that has begun here in Milan more than a year ago and has definitely reached an international dimension.
The United States, France, Spain, China and the UK are only some of the countries where our project has been written about in articles, won awards and academics have made use of the application to support their research.
Waiting to tell you the sequel of the story... happy Codex Atlanticus!
