Our project, nominated as one of the best five data visualization websites in the world at the prestigious Webby Awards, considered the Oscars of the Web, has competed with Internet giants such as Spotify and Google.
There were two prizes at stake: one popular vote through the public, closed on May 8th, for which the project was ranked third, while the other awarded by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), for which the project won the Gold!
John Maeda gave the news live from the Webbys From Home, introducing the 5-words speech of The Visual Agency's Creative Director, Matteo Bonera. A lot of leading figures attended the ceremony: from Michelle Obama to Tom Hanks, from Anthony Fauci to Miley Cyrus, no one excluded!
But the extraordinary win at The Webby Awards wasn't the first 2020 honor: the Codex Atlanticus was also awarded with a Gold in Digital Tools and Utilities at the Indigo Award, where the website was also nominated in the Best in Digital Design category too. The Visual Agency was also recognized at the 2019 Awards, with the charming Atlante dell’Appennino winning several prizes.
