Since January 2024, The Visual Agency has inaugurated its new headquarters in the heart of Milan, within the prestigious Palazzo Liberty, sharing spaces with the renowned consulting multinational BIP, of which we have been an integral part since March 2023. The relocation was a demanding process, involving boxes and a lot of effort, but the outcome is undoubtedly satisfying.
To celebrate this new chapter, we organized an opening night for our Milanese clients. The event was centered around a panel discussion dedicated to the American elections, the significance of data visualization and its impact on decision making. For the occasion we were honored to have two special guests discussing this topic: Professor Paolo Ciuccarelli, founder of the Center for Design at Boston's Northeastern University and the DensityDesign Lab at Politecnico University of Milan, along with Marco Bardazzi, journalist and writer known for his coverage of American elections as a special correspondent for Il Foglio and curator of the newsletter Sotto il Cielo d’America.
The conversation centered around the historical path of elections in the United States and the application of data visualization to this subject, highlighting how interactive maps and graphics can facilitate understanding of demographic phenomena, migratory flows, and political trends over time. This theme is also addressed in Marco Bardazzi's book, Rapsodia Americana, which he kindly donated to the guests at the end of the event.
But the surprises don't end here. During the evening, we also offered our guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in an engaging and interactive experience: a room specially prepared for our VR project, accessible through the Oculus. Inside this room, visitors were able to virtually explore our most innovative projects, confirming our versatility in combining technology and creativity. It was a memorable moment for everyone involved, and we look forward to offering equally exciting new experiences in the future!
